Join Us In StudyWe believe that the 66 books of the Bible are God's divine Word to us. The Holy Spirit carried along the human authors of the various books so that they would pen exactly what God wanted to express to us. Just as God directed the Apostle Paul to write, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
(2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV). As Baptists, we take God's infallible Word to be the final authority for all matters of Christian faith and living. But just affirming that commitment isn't enough. To understand what we believe, and how to live those beliefs, we must study the Bible avidly. That's why Bible study is so important to us here at FBC Greensburg. We offer two ongoing Bible studies, which are quite popular and lively. We'd love for you to come and join us! |
Out to Lunch Bunch
Join us in the Fellowship Hall for a snack and conversation to begin. Afterward, we share each others' prayer needs and lift them up before the Lord. Next, Pastor Scott leads us to dig deep into God's Word. Currently we're examining the lives of people God used powerfully in the Old Testament. They were normal people with normal, human flaws, and yet God transformed them and accomplished a great deal through them. We can learn much from both their failings and their victories, because God can transform and use us, too. This is a large, lively group--we value open discussion! We invite you to journey with us.

Sisters of LightThe purpose of all Bible Studies is to study the Word of God. FBC’s Sisters-of-Light Bible Study is a combination of that study of the Word of God plus real-life application. Our study is directed by a guide along with open discussion and prayer. But the biggest benefit is the Christian friendship and support that has developed within the group of women. We are currently using Jennifer Rothschid’s “Missing Pieces” as our study guide. This study provides real hope when the life we all lead doesn’t make much sense.
Sisters of Light also has a heart for local missions, and we feel called to do what we can to reach out to people in our area who are struggling with addiction. To that end, our special missions project is to provide Recovery Bibles to anyone who needs one. We've provided Bibles to members of local 12-step programs, people who are incarcerated, and friends or family members of those who come through our doors. So far, we have distributed over 210 Recovery Bibles. The Bible Study is open to all women who would like to attend. We are always excited to have new members join our team! Join Us!
