Our church has nurseries for two age groups of very young children and a team of adult volunteers with years of experience who staff our Children's Church during worship service. The head of our children's ministry, Jim Gongaware, prepares the kids with a Children's Message every Sunday. It's always full of humor and sometimes crazy costumes! But each Sunday, he gives us a strong lesson from the Bible that even we adults think about long afterward. His talk links up with the theme of Children's Church for that day.
We make sure all our volunteers keep their clearances up-to-date, and we always have multiple adults supervising our programs together. Moving through the Bible in a systematic way and applying its lessons on a level our kids can relate to, our Children's Church teachers put a lot of care and creativity into each lesson. On special occasions like Christmas and Easter, the kids (and sometimes kids-at-heart) perform music on handbells! And from time to time, there's a party for the children in our Fellowship Hall during church. They had an amazing time during the Easter Party this year!
